thai policeman murders drug suspect

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

I see a Porsche, Audi S5(?) a Bentley and a few shitty cars, old S class. And a Ferrari.
Hardly the same as the collection before is it.
are you thick or what??
i posted the list of his cars?

seems u enjoy picking out petty bs things ////
No. You posted a picture and story from 2017 unrelated to this story.

Who’s thick?

Why not just post a picture of cats. It’s as relevant.
Those are current (as in today’s news) definitely not outdated not 2017.
The supercar picture with cop looking impressed I quoted is from 2017. Stolen cars from the UK.

Whatever. Just trying to stop fake incorrect news.

Someone died. Let’s move on.

MY questions are

how did he advance in his senior post at such a young age?
was his dad a cop?

As the story of the 7 police officers accused of suffocating a man to death while trying to extort him for 2 million baht continues to unfold, 2 of the officers are currently fugitives, including Pol Col Thitisan “Chief Joe” Utthanaphon whose incredible wealth and fleet of cars has come under intense scrutiny. Now the National Anti-Corruption Commission has launched a probe into the police station superintendent’s sprawling property, mansion, 29 luxury and supercars valued at over 175 million baht, plus 13 more luxury cars.

An investigation into 39 year old Chief Joe’s finances, almost as shocking as the suffocation of a man with a plastic bag held over his head while police held him down caught on video in the police station, will be conducted by the NACC concurrently with the murder investigation.

The NACC has a special department for assets inspections and the evidence of Chief Joe’s staggering wealth – with his 2-acre Bangkok estate, fleet of luxury cars, and rumours of a 9-digit stockpile of cash – has been compiled and will be submitted to that subcommittee for thorough examination.

just in:
Following conflicting reports during most of Thursday afternoon, police have now finally confirmed the arrest of fugitive Pol Col Thitisan Utthanaphon, nicknamed ‘Jo Ferrari’.

He reportedly surrendered to a search team across the border in Myanmar in Myawaddy, before being brought back to Mae Sot on Thursday afternoon

Not sure if that total is just for the 29 luxury and supercars but for those of you who are, like myself, baffled by figures like 175 million it appears to be about US$5,340,902. The guy looks quite young too. That's some heavy graft going on. 8)

Wow, and nobody noticed anything suspicious about this policeman beforehand. Up until he was accused of murder, nobody thought to investigate the fact that his police pay is about US$1,200 a month, and yet he owns a house worth close to $2M, and about $3M in luxury cars.
The department's explanations followed media reports that police had found 13 luxury cars worth more than 100 million baht in total at Pol Col Thitisan's 60-million-baht house.

His wealth also prompted the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to step in. As a police colonel, he received a salary of around 40,000 baht a month before he was dismissed from service on Tuesday.

Niwatchai Kasemmongkol, NACC spokesman, said his office was investigating Pol Col Thitisan for abuse of authority and unusual wealth. Anti-graft officials are gathering facts for the investigations.

But this guy is no exception. If you start looking into declared income versus real assets in SEA, you go down a rabbit-hole.

I haven’t watched the video. It sounds like a snuff movie.

If in my homecountry a cop would drive a bunch of super expensive sport cars and had nickname Ferrari Joe living in a palace it would be investigated immediately.
