(RIP) King Bhumibol Adulyadej - Rama IX (5 December 1927 - 13 October 2016)

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

You heard wrong;
i watch Al-Jazeera and the BBC every day,
they had a few broadcasts blocked during the first few days ONLY
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Daily life goes on as normal, the government has taken the sensible step of announcing its intention to relax the restrictions on the entertainment sector after the first months period of mourning. The succession plan is now in motion. What's the problem ? I'm happy to live in the here and now and deal with any earth shattering instability if it ever arises, that's what people do. A few blocked websites that I would never have read anyway, big deal. I survived 30 odd years in the UK without the slightest interest in discussing or worrying about the machinations of the monarchy which I have no control over, I'm not going to change now.
