A stereotypical Pattaya story
A stereotypical Pattaya story
When these stories happen with such regularity, they should cease to become news. They are still good for a laugh, though...especially when the two people involved check all the right boxes for what has become the pathetic stereotype for human behavior in Pattaya.
- Grizzled, yet clueless old sexpat prowler ....check
- wearing a wife beater shirt ...check
- haggard, past-her-prime bar girl thief ...check
- police photos with the usual "point to the suspect while she points to the money she stole" pic ...check
The other photos are kinda funny too, with the local cop showing sympathy for the forlorn farang.

5 Star Hotel Theft from British Guest by Pattaya Bar Girl

Over the weekend, the Pattaya Police Chief, announced the arrest of a 40 year old Pattaya Bar Worker, who is alleged to have stolen money from the room safe of a 56 year old British Tourist.
The incident occurred at the Dusit Thani Resort in North Pattaya, inside a room occupied by Mr. John Sargant from Redhill in Surrey. Earlier he had invited Khun Tirapon to his room and after 3 days of being together, she suddenly left but decided to reportedly steal 2,900 Pounds Sterling from his room safe.
During Questioning the suspect claimed that she watched Mr. Sargant use the room safe and was able to remember the security code. After she left, the money was exchanged for Thai Baht and allegedly handed to Khun Tikamporn aged 56 who the suspect claims is a close friend.
Police were able to locate the two women at the Oh La La Beer Bar situated close to the Dolphin Roundabout and only meters away from the Hotel. A total of 100,600 Baht was recovered and a small amount of pounds sterling. Khun Tirapon claimed she was angry that Mr. Sargant did not provide her with any financial compensation in exchange for her providing companionship, which led her to steal the money from the safe.
Both women were later charged over the incident and Mr. Sargant, who was clearly emotional at the press conference announcing the arrests, thanked the Hotel and Police for their assistance.

I do the same thing when I have a girl in my room. Let her watch how I unzip my pants, so she can remember how to do it herself.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

I'm not sure who is the bigger idiot - her or him. I'm really surprised she wasn't on the 1st bus to Petchabun and hiding out for a few months. Instead she's hanging out right next to his hotel, probably at the joint she works - un-fucking-believable. Did she think he wouldn't mind ? The Brit looks closer to 76 than 56, but he's a classy dude staying at the Dusit. That's probably a designer wife-beater.

I think it's probably just you who doesn't feel sympathy for old people getting robbed, or think it's somehow funny. Personally, I am very protective of old people.Soi Dog wrote: The other photos are kinda funny too, with the local cop showing sympathy for the forlorn farang.
Old guys can't win. If he took a young bargirl, he would be slaughtered. But he took an older BG, and both him and her get criticised.
Instead of a negative, bitchy , K440 type view of Pattaya tourists. I think most would think.......
Poor old tourist, getting robbed.
I'm glad someone is putting food on an old bargirls table.
Sounds like a good old bloke, that would get so emotional when thanking the police.
Being a Brit tourist , he is probably melting, yet doesn't know about the Phnom Penh fashion police and their " razor keyboards" !!!

Nice to hear a different perspective for a change. However we all know the score, I wouldn't expect sympathy from anyone given that the risks of inviting bar girls back to your room are regularly well reported. Following the forums here for a while as a Pattayite I find it amusing how the expats here try to maintain that the scene is somehow different and more respectable in PP presumably to make themselves feel more comfortable about the place they live in and assume some form of superiority over everywhere that is not PP. The hostess bar scene sums it up for me. " Not all girls that work in hostess bars are hookers - it's not like Thailand " was one post the other day. A dubious assertion from both sides of the coin I would say.
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.

Another "I don't pay for sex" type. The last one I remember was someone staying with a GSM hooker for about three months for "free". When she left she relieved him of his iphone and ipad.Soi Dog wrote:

Don't most people pay at the end of the run ? He probably didn't know they were finished.
Re: A stereotypical Pattaya story
The only reason I can think of is that some are jealous of their Pattaya counterparts, many of whom are retired and own their homes, even though ownership can be tenuous. Many that stay over the Sukhumvit in East Pattaya, don't even venture to the tourists bars and gogos, and have a nice relaxing retirement playing golf etc. The ones that do use bargirls though, aren't in denial, like some PP expats.Cowshed Cowboy wrote:Nice to hear a different perspective for a change. UKJ, I think there is a fair element of truth in that. Ignorance is bliss as well, I wouldn't be surprised if those that shout the loudest have never actually been to Pattaya in the last few years if at all.

Not exactly a looker, and a tough one to call.
