At 4pm, on the afternoon of July 7, Pattaya One reporters were informed that a Bottlenose Dolphin was stranded at the beach on Pratumnak Soi 5, Pratumnak Hill.

The dolphin was trapped in a net around twenty-meters from the beach and was being helped by a group of ten local citizens and tourists.

It also appeared to be suffering stab wounds on both sides and with a badly damaged right eye. The creature was exhausted and helpless.

Witnesses in the crowd said that a young tourist had seen the dolphin and ran to tell his father there was a shark in the water. The man went to investigate and discovered the trapped animal.

After being freed volunteers tried to pull it back out into deeper water but the dolphin appeared to be too sick to swim. After being washed back to the beach several times the helpers called for the Marine Rescue Department to take over the rescue operation...
