Smoked goods into Thailand?

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Smoked goods into Thailand?

Post by StroppyChops »

Ave, heathens...

Dutch family are soon to visit and are coming through Thailand for a few days. They want to bring us some smoked sausages and are curious about whether they'll lose it at Thai customs. Any experience/advice with this, please?

Edit: yes, I see now I confused my singular and plural but it's okay, I are a teacher.

Juts tell them to double wrap so no smell.

Ta muchly, I thought that to be the case. The sausages is ( :D ) shrink-wrapped so shouldn't be a problem. They're not bringing luggage though, only backpacks - same?

Me too! Never looked in my bag, coming or going.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

Good thing your family aren't going to New Zealand.

Ah, so that's why they're called bangers!

If a group of ISIS got in, would they be gang-bangers?

Not much - 5 or 6 hours 'detained', interrogated and a 30.000 baht fine (no receipt). If you don't have the 30,000... off to the 'klink' until you do (and raise it quickly because it goes up every day you don't pay).

:hattip:
You could be next.
