Short version of the "long time" barfine scam:

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Comparing a so called house of prostitution where workers aren't legally employed to a hostess bar is clearly ridiculous. The business is of course legitimate, all business's have licences displayed and girls have timecards etc. and know the penalties for infringements of their terms of contract.
You are making a distinction which has no difference. To gloryify a "hostess" or "gogo" bar with this stuff is beyond the pale of common sense. All three are houses of prostitution, the brothel, the "hostess bar" and the "gogo bar". The only reason to prop one or the other up is the hypocritical conduct you are accusing me of. I'm in touch with the reality of the scenes. However, here we sit some many pages later without your down to earth answer....do you believe in buying girls out of hostess/gogo "bars" since that was their terms of "contract" laughable as that term in our context is?
I am in no way "glorifying" hostess bars, they are different style venues, in the same way "Lucky Burger" differs from "Armand's Bistro" One could argue that there is no difference as they both provide food. One generally goes to a brothel for "sex" whereas one goes to a hostess bar to enjoy the intimate company of an attractive and attentive hostess for a few hours. You are paying for a performance. At the end of the "performance" you pay the bill and leave. Of course this could be extended by paying a bar fine if the girl is agreeable and may continue for a few hours or overnight. But at the end you pay and she leaves with no strings attached.

I admit in Phnom Penh there are different qualities of hostess bar and one or two are little more than low class brothels. There are also some better class places with quite pleasant hostesses that are both good conversationalists and good company. If you are looking for only "sex" rather than a whole nights entertainment then probably these venues would be a waste of money.

KTV's of similar entertainment and some excellent hostesses, however you really need to go with a group and be prepared to spend quite a bit of cash.

With respect to buying girls out of hostess bars seems like a ridiculous scam that I have not come across here, although I know of cases where indentured girls have been bought out of brothels. I knew of cases where girls were bought out of bars in Thailand also but this was years ago when there were many indentured girls from Chang Mai working in beer bars with upstairs short time rooms and the bars themselves were little more than brothels.

Why don't you change the record, you've made your point over and over and over. I'd be surprised if nobody doesn't get your viewpoint by now. Talk about a one trick pony.
