Scottish Muay Thai boxer dies, possible heatstroke.
RIP Jordan Lamnammoon Muay Thai
NAKHON RATCHASIMA - A Scottish Muay Thai boxer was found dead on Sunday in a heavy sweatsuit that police speculate might have brought on a heat stroke.
Pol Capt Prachakorn Promduang of Pho Klang police station said the boxer was found dead in Muang district one day after he went left his hotel and failed to return.
He was identified by police as Jordan Donald but a search of a Facebook account names him as Jordan Coe. Another name on his Facebook account is Dechalek Lamnammoon.
The boxer, known by his ring name of Jordan Lamnammoon Muay Thai, was wearing a thick outfit when he left the hotel, and it was still in place when his body was discovered.
Trainer Kritchai Kritnok told police that the Scot went out with the heavy clothing to try to shred three kilogrammes so that he could meet the 61-kg limit for a bout on Sunday. A resort owner told police that the man left at 11.30am on Saturday, according to Channel 3.
Doctors at Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital, who conducted a preliminary autopsy on the boxer, believed that he suffered a shock to his system due to severe dehydration from jogging in the scorching sun.
A detailed autopsy will be carried out to determine the official cause of death, Pol Capt Prachakorn said.
Jordan was scheduled to fight Khon Bola, a Cambodian boxer, at a temporary boxing venue at Wat Pong Din Sor in Muang district on Sunday night in the Sa-ngam Asean fight...

Re: Scottish Muay Thai boxer dies, possible heatstroke.
A Scottish boxer has died in Thailand of suspected heatstroke. Jordan Coe, 20, was found dead in a heavy tracksuit and is believed to have been trying to reach a certain weight for a professional fight.
The boxer, from Maddiston, Falkirk, was a professional Muay Thai boxer and trained at a gym in Glasgow before moving to Thailand.
Craig Floan, Coe’s coach at Glasgow Thai Boxing Academy, said he was found dead on Sunday and that it is believed he died from heatstroke.
“He moved to Thailand to chase his dream of becoming a professional after being with me for three and a half years,” he said.
“We’ve set up a fundraiser for him and I’m now trying to help raise enough money to bring him home.”...

RIP
Preparing for a fight is far worse and harder than the fight its self, many people dont see the struggle, blood, sweat leading up to a fight

Must be very wearing on your body. If I understand, the guy had 3 kilos to lose in a week ? That's punishing stuff.Jamie_Lambo wrote: RIP

Are there any boxers that live to a ripe old age ?
(So sad, this guy was only 20yo. Just a kid. RIP. )

for a fight i had last year i lost 16kg in under 2 months, it did fuck me up though
its also why i retired from kickboxing in 2010 as i fucked myself up trying to get back down to my old fighting weight after a year out the ring, i used to fight at 62kg,
i was at the time 74kg and managed to get down to 66kg 3 weeks before a british title eliminator at 64kg but because i lost 8kg in only a few weeks my body started to fuck up and had to pull out
some fighters will near enough kill themselves trying to lose enough weight to get into the weight division below rather than being smaller/lighter in the weight above, usually done the day before weigh in where they do some dangerous dehydration and weight cut
this is a good mini documentry where a kickboxer has to lose 19lbs (8.5kg) in 19 hours before the weigh in

i start cutting 2-4 weeks before the fight, your supposed to do it gradually so you dont drain yourself so close to the fight,LionsLeftTesticle wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2017 3:33 pm Would guy be cutting water a week out? seems far too early.
theyve brought in new rules that fighters need to be about 8% off fight weight like half a week to a week before the fight, and some organisations now have regular weigh checks weeks before the fight
its also to stop fighters cutting weight the day or 2 before the fight like this, then rehydrating the day before the fight and putting on loads of weight to gain a big weight advantage,
you often hear in boxing that boxers like Canelo Alverez who boxes at 155lbs but actually weighs 170-175lbs on fight night after rehydrating and filling up again after the weigh in

Re: Scottish Muay Thai boxer dies, possible heatstroke.
So it's not the same as beauty pageant bodybuilding?
They would be water loading a week out to flush the water, which is why I thought heatstroke was unusual.
They shouldn't be allowed to cut to the extreme, it's not going to do their health any favors.
I wonder if diuretics or other drugs were involved.
Maybe he just had a heart condition like the mighty zzyz and his body couldn't take it any longer.
Must have been a scary last few seconds, hope it was over quickly.

I am no Doctor but donning a sauna suit or something similar and going for a run in 36 degrees heat and 80%+ humidity and you won't need a heart condition to croak.LionsLeftTesticle wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2017 5:03 pmMaybe he just had a heart condition like the mighty zzyz and his body couldn't take it any longer.
