pattaya girls in the 70's

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Right, and the Paggers were not out yet.
Pagers?
Invented in 1921, pagers (also known as beepers) were used by the Detroit Police Department when they successfully put a radio-equipped police car into service. In 1959, the term “pager” was coined by Motorola. By the 1970s, tone and voice pagers were invented. After the tone, the pager relayed an audio message.

How about the business sign in #2?

I'm no linguistics expert but it looks a bit off.
The sign looks like one of those vinyl ones that only got popular in the past decade or so. The graphic design also looks too modern, and one of the women has a belly piercing.

Correct but not available for the generral public before the 70s, I remember one of my uncle had one circa 1968.

Sure, I only ever saw doctors using pagers till the early 90s. I got one around 1994, it was expensive enough like $400 and a monthly $40 fee for service fees. It was one you could call a number for and give your message to an operator who would type it out and send it. You needed a direct debit from your bank to set up the account.
I replaced it with a huge Nokia three years later. That cost about the same but voice call you made were also on the bill. Pay as You Go only came in a few years later. Amazing how cheap all that stuff, much improved, is now.

anyone notice anything off?

Spoiler:
You have to look two or three times so see something is off here. It will serve as a warning to check old photos to make sure they're genuine and not A.I. Oh and a dead giveaway is that the ladies are too petty for the time.
I wonder in wich area of Pattaya these pics were taking, that was during the Vietnam war and the only visitors were the American G.I.'s
