Oishi first in Thailand to let customers pay for meals by installments
when I first read this yesterday I thought it was an early April fool's joke. Surely this is taking credit reliance to ridiculous levels? Is there the same kind of mentality towards buying things you can't afford in Cambodia? I just think it's highly irresponsible to encourage low income families to conduct their lives like this

BANGKOK: -- Oishi Group announced yesterday it will be the first in the restaurant business to allow customers to pay for their meals by instillments to encourage more people to eat out.
Paisarn Aosathaporn, Deputy CEO of Oishi Group, said the company had partnered with Krungsri Bank to let lower-income
customers spending at least THB1,500 on a meal to pay for it in three installments without interest.
He hoped this would boost customers as it is expected that consumers are likely to spend less in the first quarter of 2016.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

the article says they have partnered with Krungsri Bank so I just assumed that the customer will be asked at the very least to sign a document of some sort? And I wondered how they would feel when the people on the next table are watching while you are taking out a loan for the meal you just had
absolutely ridiculous
