Re: Mormon missionaries
From the beginning of the thread, there has been a very generalised opinion of why the Mormons are, and should be, despised, rather than any specifics about the actual persons involved. Despite several prompts.
For things to develop (or degenerate so quickly) suggests much more to the situation. Despite several prompts.
A cry for help, as it were.
Which may well have gone unheard until a particular fella appeared.
It’s surely important to understand and recognise what’s happening with the woman in question, rather than just expecting the audience to simply agree to and support, a particular POV without any supporting detail.

but i think its all BS
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
Re: Mormon missionaries
That pretty much sums up the concept of organized religion.

Re: Mormon missionaries
I always thought missionaries had to operate under certain rules, I don't know much about how they're supposed to conduct themselves but I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to be trying to get laid on their mission, or do anything fun for that matter. I would have thought running off to marry someone else's missus mid-mission would be frowned upon, if not a sackable offense.
Maybe he's not actually a missionary. Maybe he's gone rogue. Whatever is going on I have the feeling there's more to this story than we know.

Re: Mormon missionaries
They have rules. The rogue missionary should be reported to the Church of Latter Day Saints in Utah for recall and punishment. He embarrasses the entire religion.
Because Cambodia is so far away, keeping all their missionaries honest is much harder.
Being a player in a third world country is not one of their enlightenment goals.

Re: Mormon missionaries
If the locals made it a habit to hang proselytizing cunts from the next best tree, they would soon stop coming and the problem would disappear.

Re: Mormon missionaries
That works well for the people on Sentinel Island, they've made it very clear they want nothing to do with the outside world and most people respect that. The last missionary that landed on their Island - breaking all sorts of laws meant to protect the Sentinelese - got shot full of arrows and was never seen again.
Now, even the missionaries leave them alone.
Re: Mormon missionaries
Historically it usually had the opposite effect.
Whenever a missionary perished on location, they usually got sanctified.
A crusade or other more ambitious new effort was rushed to resume the action in the name of its patron saint.
