I was in Bangkok early on this year sampling the wonderful Thai street food, average price 60baht per dish, accompanying large bottled beer 100baht.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 7:56 ami travel( by car) all over Thailand each summer, never seen fried rice, any noddle dish or soup less than 40 baht for the past few yearsyong wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 1:39 amI don't think one can get any food for 25 baht here in Thailand anymore, I frequent the moo-baan and baan-nok very often I couldn't remember seeing any 25 baht meal. In the time that dinosaurs still ruled the world, i ate a 3 Baht noodle soup somewhere in a remote area in Chiang Rai province. It didn’t tasted even bad...AndyKK wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 10:52 amI was in Bangkok early on this year sampling the wonderful Thai street food, average price 60baht per dish, accompanying large bottled beer 100baht.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 7:56 ami travel( by car) all over Thailand each summer, never seen fried rice, any noddle dish or soup less than 40 baht for the past few yearsyong wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 1:39 amI don't think one can get any food for 25 baht here in Thailand anymore, I frequent the moo-baan and baan-nok very often I couldn't remember seeing any 25 baht meal. Re: Land of Smiles
I guess the price depends on where you go.
I was in Thailand early last year, but in suburbia. No hotels, no tourists, no neon signs.
Lunch for 3 of us at a nondescript hole in the wall : 1 x pud grapaow, 1 x fried rice w/chicken, 1 stir fried mixed vege, and 3 small Est Colas = 140 baht.

My friend I was with is a farang who speaks fluent isaan dialect, it was rare we paid over 35 baht for a meal.
They must take you for a tourist PR as I never knew anyone to pay 60 baht for pad Thai.
Re: Land of Smiles
Did you eat in Bangkok with your friend at that price? And are going to tell me the Thai’s are going to all that trouble to put pictures of the dishes, with their prices up on their carts, to catch out the odd tourist. Then charge the Thai's buying at lower price.Beerinthemorning wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 11:20 amIf you speak basic Thai yet will give you the local price.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 7:56 ami travel( by car) all over Thailand each summer, never seen fried rice, any noddle dish or soup less than 40 baht for the past few yearsyong wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 1:39 amI don't think one can get any food for 25 baht here in Thailand anymore, I frequent the moo-baan and baan-nok very often I couldn't remember seeing any 25 baht meal.
