Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

In the time that dinosaurs still ruled the world, i ate a 3 Baht noodle soup somewhere in a remote area in Chiang Rai province. It didn’t tasted even bad...

I guess the price depends on where you go.
I was in Thailand early last year, but in suburbia. No hotels, no tourists, no neon signs.

Lunch for 3 of us at a nondescript hole in the wall : 1 x pud grapaow, 1 x fried rice w/chicken, 1 stir fried mixed vege, and 3 small Est Colas = 140 baht.

If you speak basic Thai yet will give you the local price.

My friend I was with is a farang who speaks fluent isaan dialect, it was rare we paid over 35 baht for a meal.

They must take you for a tourist PR as I never knew anyone to pay 60 baht for pad Thai.

Did you eat in Bangkok with your friend at that price? And are going to tell me the Thai’s are going to all that trouble to put pictures of the dishes, with their prices up on their carts, to catch out the odd tourist. Then charge the Thai's buying at lower price. :please:

I have to admit cost of living in Rangsit area which is the north of Bangkok is relatively cheaper. My work place is not far from Rangsit.
