Has the ThaiVisa Forum Shriveled Substantially?

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Has the ThaiVisa Forum Shriveled Substantially?

Post by General Mackevili »

I might be wrong, but the last time I checked out ThaiVisa discussion forum they had over a thousand of members online and several thousand guests online as well, so when I went there tonight to see if I can take my vape there, I was shocked to see only 69 members online and less than 900 guests. Is that extremely low from what they used to be, or am I simply confused? It doesn't say if those numbers are over the last 5 minutes or last 5 days, so I can't really tell what it suggests.

I read somewhere on there that a dude was charged almost $8000 USD for simply vaping. Damn!!!! I have better things to spend $8,000 on!!!!!

And most importantly, can I bring my vape through the airports without getting an anal probe from customs over it?

I don't know if it's shriveled, but I do know I've stopped posting... because I've stopped going to Thailand.
I got sick of the 'Land of Smiles' when I realized the facial expressions tourists mistake for smiles are really shit-eating grins... because they're ripping you off.
I got sick of driving through roadblocks every 8 km.
I got sick of being extorted by Immigration.
You could be next.

Thai food is fantastic. Vietnam I enjoy. Cambodia not so much.

Pad krapow moo Lai kae dtow
And prit nam bla

No idea if I can still say it correctly, but that was my favorite when I stayed in Thailand.

Defo most developed food and tourist industry. Your transliterations are just fine, and delicious choices. :)

Thailand has good infrastructure, although Malaysia's roads are quite nice also.

I liked all food that was Thai-similar: Laotian and of the Shan of Myanmar.

Can't avoid an occasional shakedown/inconvenience by Thais, unless you really educate yourself on where to go, etc.

Phuket is quite nice though, but that's like Catalina Island. Thailand has many nice AND developed/pricier locations. Or maybe I always end up spending more ...

I stopped even looking at it years ago. IF I do a search for info and some TV hit comes up, I might look but invariably it's many years old info. Seems like people just stopped posting anything but drivel. There are many sites that claim to have info, but mostly they're bullshit.
