Has the ThaiVisa Forum Shriveled Substantially?

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Oddly I’ve never been to Phuket. Always Bangkok, Pattaya and Koh Samui, and I loved KS so much I went back and decided Phuket was likely too touristy for my liking. KS is where I completed my Scuba license, classroom in NYC and ocean dives in KS

Oh, esp. if you learn a little Thai, you can visit lovely Chiang Mai during Loy Kratong and the sky lantern sky "parade," the elephant round up in Surin in November, and the gateway to Isaan, Korat.

I esp. like Isaan grilled beef quite a bit, I don't know why, it may be just full of flavor and tasty.

The old Mall of Korat has large pools with giant arapaima the size of rodeo animals.

The respect for animals is so great there, the animals have no need for protection. They're *right there* - placid aquatic beasts.

Melvin Udall: Never, never, interrupt me, okay?

Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.

Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.

And I haven't even begun to describe the undersea attractions - towering aquamarine coral structures, colorful lanes of picturesque piscatorial traffic, and just sushi everywhere! Ha, good times!

Wait, was that the Gulf of Thailand or was that Bangkok? Haha.

When you do get extorted by Immigration, it feels like you have been robbed by the police... actually, you HAVE!

Tell that to an elephant with tourists on it's back trudging along the same path day after day... or a drugged, toothless (they've been extracted) baby sloth used as a 'prop' for tourist photos.

I hear Thailand is pretty tight about this now. This crackdown is bound to cause an increase in prison vape.

No problems with awareness and wildlife, *at all*. I am about to make a *joke*, however, so please don't be offended or think the wrong thing.

I may regret this post one day, but if you drugged me and made me cuddle with female tourists all day, I'd ... I'd ... Suckle?

Cant handle samui, way to touristy for me. On phuket plenty of places u can go and not see tourists. In samui, impossible
Plus diving in the bay sucks compared to the andaman sea, similans and burma banks :-)
Did my dive masters aboard a live aboard in the similans,,,,,,

Spot on. We have Similan viewpoints on Phuket.

Still have problems pronouncing that word, however.

Phuket is not to be missed.
