Ex-EastEnders star Paul Nicholls hospitalised after being trapped for THREE days with smashed leg in Thai jungle

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Always "hope" but never "expect".

The details of this story are REALLY sketchy. The guy's a minor celebrity. No one went with him? No one knew where he was headed? No one checked up on him for 3 days?

"I had a phone with me but I fell from such a height into the water it was unretrievable."

His phone was "unretrievable"? Who talks like that? An actor reading a script, that's who.

My guess would be that he was actually on a 3-day drug-fueled sex-crazed binge with a mixed team of "lady night" and ladyboyz, and his agent or publicist invented this tale to explain his absence.

UPDATE. He's better.
This version of events from the Daily Mail is even more stupid, and hopefully it is just DM tabloid trash reporting, because it makes the victim look like a total dick.

Summary: A minor UK TV star almost died taking a selfie at an isolated waterfall. He did not tell anyone where he was going. He is too stupid or unaware to have any travel insurance at all, because he was keeping all his money for his fun hols, so his parents will have to pay his accident bills even though he is a nearly 40yo TV celebrity. However, he might pay them back half when he gets home because he's a great guy.

- Crocked former EastEnders star Paul Nicholls broke down in tears as he recounted the moment he was rescued after falling down a waterfall in Thailand - and revealed he did not have insurance.

The 38-year-old actor said his stepfather has borne the brunt of his medical costs, and stated that he opted to be moved to a cheaper facility because he didn't want to spend his travelling money on hospital bills.
"So it’s travelling money and I didn’t really want to spend it on [hospital] and I wasn’t insured as well."
'So my stepfather is bearing the brunt of the bill but I’ll probably tell him when I get home that I’ve got some money and we should go halves.'

Nicholls, currently starring in the Channel 4 series Ackerly Bridge, had travelled alone on a motorbike to a remote jungle waterfall on the island. He is thought to have fallen while taking a 'selfie' at the beauty spot.

Still looks suspiciously liked a staged event created to generate some PR for the show.
