Draft Beer at 7-11

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

I wonder if they will give you the beer in a plastic cup or even a plastic bag with a rubber band! :D
There will have to be seating areas inside or out for locals, tourists and grizzled expats alike.
With the new tax increase on things inc beer, maybe 7-11 onto a winner.

Yeah, but their alcohol-selling hours are stupidly limited because they obey the law.
You could be next.

On the subject of Leo beer. :beer3: Three promotional models at a bar in Saraburi province were arrested for promoting alcohol over a Facebook Live stream, police said Wednesday. :(

Citing a controversial prohibition on acts which encourage others to drink, the women were charged with an offense that carries a penalty of up to 500,000 baht. The arrests on Monday came after authorities renewed their pledge to prosecute anyone who uses social media to promote alcohol consumption. Boonrawd Brewery, the conglomerate which makes Leo beer, has contacted the bar to offer assistance http://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crim ... book-live/

Just as I refuse to eat anything out of a 7-Eleven, there is absolutely no effing way I'd get myself a draft there.

BANGKOK: -- CP All has agreed to temporarily cease selling of draft beer at its 7- Eleven convenient stores after strong opposition by anti-alcoholic networks.

Representatives of the two networks, the Youth Network of New Face Drinker Prevention, and the Stop Drink Network, met executives of CP All, which owns and operates all 7-Eleven convenience stores in the country, on Friday and submitted them protesting note.
In a negotiation, the company agreed to temporarily halt the selling of draft beer, pending consultation with its top management, and it’s executive board.

But you can still go in and buy bottles of cheap Gin, Vodka, Whisky, Hong Thong etc. And Cans and bottles of beer out of the fridge. And have been able to for years! They think draft beer is worse for who? The teenagers that buy the bottles of spirits and take them into the nearest KTV?
