We don't need no re-education.....
As Myanamar becomes more open, Thailand is becoming more blatantly Orwellian. Big Thai Brother is watching.
The strange thing about this article is the picture and caption. They show some Thai official talking to a few cute schoolgirls and the caption says "These schoolgirls are not eligible for re-education."

I have a better solution: Give Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha a attitude adjustment, how to accept critics.
There are people who cannot imagine that there are other ways of life than their own life.
Re: We don't need no re-education.....
Well, it's only been about two years already since the military took over Thailand and, as it says, "the current political situation is an abnormal one" and "The country needs to be peaceful now. What are they [politicians] doing for the country?"
Being unable to control Mr. T on the one hand and having to manage the upcoming succession on the other hand has left them no choice but to just try to keep a lid on things.
You can read a bit about their plan here:
https://www.euractiv.com/section/trade- ... s-critics/
So, basically it's quite unrealistic to expect any changes for the next several years if not longer. Unfortunately, things are likely to get worse before there are any improvements. Of course, the situation is Cambodia is hardly better or in most other countries at the moment. The best thing to do is choose the police state that you can live with.

I just saw an odd advertisement promoting Thailand on CNN. The commercial was all about "His Majesty the King's successful and sustianable 'Sufficiency Economy' program" and how 'the Royal governemnt' is working to promote peace and stability in the world. The junta is obviously getting desperate for good PR by putting the King back in front as a facade.

Uh-oh. The list for the re-education camps are already compiled. Can't be good for stability when they start rounding people up...seven days or not.
Attitude camps, course and detainee lists readied
