Considering your location Richard, I'd be more worried about yourself ! The Thai 'Computer Crime Act' combined with their Libel Laws are a completely insane perversion of justice. On another note, I got all excited yesterday when somebody posted this article : http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/one-to ... other-run/ (from the same site as your link) on Thai Visa. It said that Mon (headman's brother) was arrested and Warot (headman's son) was on the run. Whopee, the result we were all hoping for ! Then I noticed it was a week old & complete bullshit. I had to pull my post on this thread. One would think Thai PBS would be a lot more reliable than that. They will probably be sued as well.

BANGKOK: -- DNA test conducted by the Police hospital has cleared the son of the influential village headman on Koh Tao of any involvement in the murder of two British tourists on the island in mid-September.

Mr Woraphan Tuvichien, the headman of Koh Tao, voluntarily took his son, Mr Warot, to the police to have DNA tests to prove his innocence after it was widely circulated in the social media that the young man might be involved in the murder.

Result of the Police hospital’s test showed that the DNA of Mr Warot’s tissue sample did not match with the DNA of the criminal suspect found in the body of one of the two victims, Ms Hannah Witheridge.

However, Pol Lt-Gen Prawuth Thavornsiri, the police spokesman, said that police were waiting for the results of DNA tests from three other institutes namelyP Chulalongkorn, Ramathibodi and Siriraj hospitals. He expected the results tomorrow (Saturday).
so he is cleared of rape, but what about murder?

How could he possibly match, since the RTP have already stated that the Burmese matched & AFAIK they're not exactly related. It's odd that the Burmese didn't test positive on the 1st round of testing, no ? So even if Warot really matched, they've painted themselves in a corner already & couldn't admit he did. IMO, if the fix wasn't in already they never would have tested him. He photo-shopped his alibi CCTV photo at school. Everybody who lives in his building said that they took out the furnature in the hall in his photo in June. Fuck the DNA - I want to see his phone records & some airline passenger manifests for that morning.

...hes out, guys... fingerprints, dna, everything tested...

but dont think, this boring news came without earthshaking revelations...

DNA seems a major issue in this case

I read over 40 pages of this thread and potty is still running in circle. i suspect bribes are paid, the thai military dont want to bring attention. a year laater, milky boy will laugh. move on.

It could be a very expensive cover-up. If the the British investigators are from the institutionally corrupt New Scotland Yard they'll go along with it, but will want a large sum for their co-operation. :hattip:

In my own mind this is the biggest case to test the credibility of a supposedly new Thailand - fail in my opinion - and the ability of the British government to get justice for its citizens in Thailand, the jury's out. Is the British government going through the motions because of the outcry and they have to or are they serious ? What are the implications of a diplomatic fall out over this, if that's what it takes then fuck Thailand in this case, enough is enough.
