Here we go again. Same police as Koh Tao. An Oz meth addict went to a clinic for a controversial treatment & ended up dead. The deceased's gf says it was the drug mix of Ibogaine & Valium in the treatment that killed him & the clinic says they never got the treatment & the victim shot up drugs he smuggled from Oz. Feel sorry for his g/friend. The whole outfit looks like a bad idea, run by amateurs, but that's easy to say now.
Obviously when you're desperate to get off drugs you're not thinking clearly.

As for the Thai police...business as usual.

Sounds like a "Snake oil" treatment at best. After traveling to Ko Samui for over 30 years and it becoming a big tourist destination ($$$$) I looked into retiring on Ko Phangan. I got a real strange "vibe" from the place and after talking to a lot of expats there also heard how brutal/corrupt the police are there, and gave it a pass. A story like this taking place on Ko Phangan doesn't surprise me and the police cover up.
