Australia must send a frigate in support of their Commonwealth compatriots.

It's their own fault for foolishly continuing to live in a country that is deteriorating in every possible way.
Anyway, here's the latest development of the story:
How trumped-up charges led Thai police to raid expat bridge club
Members of the Pattaya bridge club believe an unfounded accusation was behind the heavy-handed police raid that saw 32 players hauled into custody

Time's running out folks. Get out while you still can.

" Legal accusations are dangerous in Thailand, where citizens can launch police inquiries easily "
that's exactly how the Stasi used to operate in communist Romania and East Germany

Yup. Just like the "private" citizens that demanded the US Ambassador be investigated. Police MUST investigate. And just like bar/resto competitors who can report you to Thai immigration because the farang owner picked up a dirty glass from a table.obelisks wrote:yes indeed and this quote from the article caught my eyesigmoid wrote:It's their own fault for foolishly continuing to live in a country that is deteriorating in every possible way.

It's worth reading this insider report from one of those "criminal bridge players" LOL. http://bridgewinners.com/article/view/c ... -criminal/
I believe Thailand is becoming a scary place. When You Know Who enters the sky palace, it might be even scarier. As for getting out, the day is coming very soon. This month, I hope.

Re: British-led Card Room raided by officials in South Pattaya
Weirder and weirder. Hate your ex? Call the police. Copy from comments from here: http://bridgewinners.com/article/view/c ... -criminal/
The person who called in the “tip” was a disgruntled and semi-psychotic ex-girlfriend of a restaurant employee downstairs. She has a history of public tantrums, and called the Prime Minister's office to lodge the “complaint”. That office was obliged to have the appropriate sub-section of the Thai hierarchy investigate. It was the Minister of the Interior for the Chonburi district (of which Pattaya is part) who decided he could puff out his chest feathers by calling out the militia and the media for a typical Thai demonstration of overkill. It is a measure of Thai efficiency that he could avoid the investigation part of the scenario and proceed directly to enforcement. TIT.
Now that he has been shown to be the rooster he is he does not wish to “lose face” by backing down, so further charges are pending. No doubt in the long run his feathers will be plucked.
The simple reason that other bridge venues have not been raided is that they are in other districts in which no direct complaints have been made, despite the fact that in Thailand disgruntled ex-girlfriends are endemic.
For Paul: Suing the arm of the enforcer is pointless, just as in a Democracy, but causing a loss of face to the person who ordered the insanity is another matter.

That's strange because I was down Jomtien Immigration last week and as per usual it was rammed, I don't think it was full of people applying to leave.sigmoid wrote:It's their own fault for foolishly continuing to live in a country that is deteriorating in every possible way.

" Get out while you still can " - How weird, are you suggesting a country that you think doesn't want us would stop us leaving. What's the point in that.
