Bomb blast in Bangkok

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

They hit the Erawan shrine at the Rachaprasong intersection. That place is always packed.

They are saying 12 dead but I would imagine that will rise significantly over the following hours.

Bomb blast in Bangkok

Post by kiwiincambodia »

Confirmed 2nd bomb at Gaysorn plaza. Luckily bomb was found in the taxi before it exploded.

My guess is there may be a few more scattered around Bangkok.

There was warnings that came out that a systematic bomb attack would happen soon in Bangkok and it looks like their Intel was spot on.

Edited: to add detail.

About 100 meters from Erawan. Very close to where the first one exploded.

Either 2 were supposed to go off together or 1 was to be delayed to get the rescue personal.

Fucking scary stuff.

For this to happen while the military are in charge, the shit is going to hit the fan.

Wonder what course of action the Thai authorities will take.
