The owner of bar enjoying a night out with friends was shot dead in the early hours of Tuesday morning in a Krabi disco following a dispute over charges for broken glasses.

Police were called to the Number One disco in Krabi Town at around 3am and found the body of 48-year-old Kochong Chansukhon laid in a pool of blood, with a gunshot wound to his head.
The gunman, Mr Somphop, 31, had been asked to pay a bill of 1,500 baht for a table of drinks he accidentally knocked to the floor and turned to his victim who owned a popular bar on the island asking him to cover the tab which he refused.

Somphop angered at the refusal of help then left the bar returning with a gun and shot his victim in the back of the head before fleeing the scene.
Believing no one would recognise him the gunman returned to the scene and was instantly arrested in the car park when witnesses pointed him out to police.

Somphop confessed to the murder saying he became angry following an argument with Mr Chansukhon, whom he claimed to know, because he wouldn’t help him out by covering the 1,500 baht bill for the spilled drinks and broken glasses.

He was charged with murder and various firearms charges and was held pending legal proceedings.

As far as I am aware in Thailand, murder is a capital offence. So this guy could risk the death penalty over 1500 Baht.
