Bar Brawl Murder in Soi 6 Pattaya

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Says in the Pattaya one https://pattayaone.news/en/auto-draft-46/ that the Australian was choking the girl and that he was known for doing this a few times

"Several other reports and comments from girls working in several other bars in the area have since surfaced claiming that this kind of behavior was normal for the the victim. Some girls even went as far as saying “he deserved it”."

I've laid out my displeasure for women beaters here before. Now death is a bit extreme but it seems it was just a one punch deal even the guys friends say so

But friends of Mr Robb have disclosed there was only one attacker and that he was the victim of a coward punch.

“Ben hit his head on the ground hard after the American guy punched him in the face,” one said. “It was a coward punch. There is an investigation going on right now.”

guy sounds like a big bully he got a punch that sadly ended his life.

So no american history x style gutter stamping, as initially reported?

i think it started off with a sucker punch then followed by 10-15 stamps of the head (as originally reported)

Report on the Pattaya one Facebook says

Update: Australian man killed in brutal bar incident in Pattaya

THE Melbourne man killed in a bar incident in a Thai red light district was the victim of a “coward punch”, shocked friends have explained.

Witnesses claimed on social media that Benjamin Robb was attacked by up to five men and his head repeatedly stomped on.

But friends of Mr Robb have disclosed there was only one attacker and that he was the victim of a coward punch.

“Ben hit his head on the ground hard after the American guy punched him in the face,” one said. “It was a coward punch. There is an investigation going on right now.”

The friend said witness reports that Mr Robb had his head stomped on and was targeted in a pack attack weren’t accurate and had upset the family. “This is a good Aussie guy who has been killed,” the friend said.

Thai media identified the victim as Mr Robb, who was aged in his 40s and lived in the suburb of Newport.

He was rushed to Pattaya Memorial Hospital but his injuries were too severe and he died a few hours later.

An American man has been arrested over the incident. Local media report the man initially fled the scene but then handed himself into police.

Both the Australian man and the American had been drinking heavily in the bar for several hours before the violence began.

A statement from the Ruby Club management said: “An altercation lasting less than 20 seconds between two customers on Friday night resulted in one person being taken to hospital with serious looking injuries, which sadly resulted in him passing away in the early hours of Saturday morning. No other customer or staff member was injured during the incident.

The other individual involved handed himself in to police and it is understood he is to remain in custody until a court appearance in 10 days or so.”

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the man’s death.

“DFAT is providing consular assistance to the family,” a spokesman said.

Some say thats all that happened the age says it was also just the one guy but that he then stamped on his head 10-15 times (also makes it sound like the dead dude was just minding his own business rather than chocking 45kg women out). If he did the stomping on the head, well then thats a cowards move if he did that

In most cities in the world it wouldn't have happened because the attacker would have been kicked out the moment he vomited on the bar.

This seems very strange to me. Anyone who has been in this place knows it's run by expats and most people who go in there are friends of friends. It isn't your normal soi 6 bar. If this Aussie had a history of being a dick I find it hard to believe he would be welcome. The initial story was that he was attacked by a group and people filmed it. Sounds like the Aussie was hitting on the lunatic Floridians favorite hooker and his steroids got the better of him. Full Aaron Hernandez. Bar owned by the Pattaya Addicts group isn't it?? Interesting.

What's strange about that? You're saying dickhead expats in Pattaya wouldn't have friends? I would assume to make friends in Pattaya you'd have to be from Florida or be a dickhead.
