Google is entirely based on open source and is worth almost half a trillion dollars. There is provably no better approach of running a business than the way Google does. Otherwise your business would be worth more than half a trillion dollars, and it isn't.

Yes. But then again, there is certainly no love lost between mathematicians and bankers. The conflict between cryptocurrency, say, bitcoin on the one side, and fiat on the other side, is an excellent vehicle not just to make good money but also to settle some bills with the global banking cartel. Satoshi Nakamoto definitely had a deep background in math as well as an axe to grid with the banking cartel. His work could already be their undoing on the long term. Without the licensing monkey business, the banking cartels are toast, and bitcoin was specifically constructed with the purpose of shutting it down.
