Email Marketing

Post by rozzieoz »

Are there any online marketers who could give me some advice?
I want to send one email a month to between 5000 - 10 000 subscribers.

I am currently with Mailchimp but it starts to get really expensive for that many contacts.

I used to be with Constant Contact and changed for a very good reason that I can’t for the life of me recall now.

Mailchimp is free for the first 2000 emails so I’ve got multiple accounts at the moment.
I haven’t sent an email for months and need to send one.

Problem is I’m locked out of one because my former assistant set it up -and set two step notification using a phone number I don’t have access to. Argh so frustrating.

So I have to enter a whole lot of emails into somewhere.

Can anyone suggest a cheaper option or is Mailchimp really the best?

The other solution you might consider if you regularly have that volume of outgoing email is to register a domain (assuming you haven't already) and buy some web hosting space (avoid the free ones), install WordPress, and then add in a mailer app. Obviously that's more complex than the solution your OP asks for, but if it's an ongoing need, worth looking into.

I already have all that - domain, website etc - I’ve had that for years.

I need something easy for email marketing. I love the newsletter templates etc, I don’t have a lot of time to design something myself.

That's an impressive email list, Roz.

I'd try MailGet. It costs $29 a month to send emails up to 25,000 contacts, and they send them through Amazon SES, so deliverability should be excellent.

I'd guess it would cost you less than $40 a month.

I've just updated my eM Client, which is what I have been using for email and they now have a distribution list function.
I'll get my assistant to export all my emails from Mailchimp and see how it goes. :)
