Pffft , I got ipads older than that ..
I just lost (RiP) my 1st iPhone 📱 , one I got in shitville long long ago .
I thought the battery died ( $15 ) but was more than that . soooo Pfft
I usually used to lose all that to beach urchins .. and many imported iPods ,
( a phone without a phone 😉)
now I never see any beach kids or hookers , but lost a few here(SR) while drunk ,
some came back , some dint
I got one of those huge big iPads from taiwan , when they 1st came out
that a poker buddy brought for me . Still going strong ,
I barely use it anymore and can’t upgrade OS all the way
but it’s good as a hard drive for a lot old photoz on it and of memories and bookmarks .
or Watching movies if you need it , or anything/ etc
I love it ..

Well they are a shitty company with shitty products and shitty business practices

Apple have been on the slide since before Steve Jobs tried to cure fucking stage 3 pancreatic cancer by visiting spiritualists and drinking green tea

That said, I liked my work issue Ipad, but I'd never pay for an Apple product

Inferior products, premium pricing
[/quote]

I have to mostly agree about apple these days ,
I can not use anything else
I get new ones all the time and 4 seperate mac accounts
.. but I hate android and can not use it at all

But what about green tea ? Something I haven’t heard ?

Oh, it was just a cheap shot at a dead man in Steve Jobs

He died as a result of complications of Pancreatic cancer having refused surgery and conventional treatment in favor of a regime of green tea, juices, herbal remedies and acupuncture - until it was too late to treat with the medical route; something he is said to have regretted in the end

I have an IPad 2 ... half of the stuff no longer supported ...

If and when I move to Cambodia countryside, Okinawa or Tinian and get my land bought or leased ... all my electronics are going to be put on ice ... net cafés for all my digital needs ... going to live as much as can can a CASHLESS lifestyle and rely to the old school ways of living as we humans have done for thousands of generations.

Telephone booths are long gone , I used to compare to video rental stores .
You would think they would be popular here but I don’t see many either .
You had me going there for a minute with the slam on green tea 🍵 .
i was going to say . “ it works for me “ but it’s probably psychological as everything else
I have so many iPads they are everywhere , I need three for the kid just to keep him up in batteries 🔋
Anytime anyone comes over they ask me to give them one. . I say ..No way .. !
Also 2 macbook 💻 . Not that old but I only use to watch Fox News .
The MacBook 💻 I brought with me died and i gave it to some kid in k.thom and he turned it into a windows .
Incredible !
I want to find some way to play all the movies 🎥 I brought here on a Hard Drive to play on the t.v.
Nobody can help because it snot android ..
I get a new iPhone 📱 once or twice a year and keep the old one . for collecting dust.
I got a few androids 2 samsung 1 huawei , as he puts it “ on ice “ I got them for reading SD cards
I would give them a charger 🔌 ! I switcheroo and have about 10 fake facebook accounts.
I still got my original 1st one iPad , sometimes it fires up mostly it don’t .

All previous generation Mac computers - laptop, desktop, towers, were powered by intel.

Apple had an official solution - Bootcamp - that allowed installation and running of windows on any Mac. Missus old mac laptop was ‘fixed’ in Cambodia by converting it to a windows only machine.

I’ve resisted the temptation to upgrade to an M1 or M2 Mac and still holding on to the final generation of Intel Macs just in case corporate IT decides to ditch virtualization and requires full windows or telnet/FTP/tn3270/DOS.

They used various families of Motorola (from 68000 series) with a smattering of others, during their development. Intel as we see it now came in later. It’s probably just that most people who know the Apple/Mac brand weren’t even an outcome of a one night stand, yet.

That and a few other options with the likes of VM, for a virtual machine, running concurrently with the mac os, while Bootcamp was a boot option- one or other.

Often people decry development as built in obsolescence. Show me a company that supports its oldest kit alongside its latest stuff. People joke about being able to build older GM cars from spares that are still produced. Well, you can maintain them, better. But progress necessarily leaves stuff behind.

Intel chips now are not the ones that people recall from the heady days of 286based pcs, and 5-¼” floppies.

If you can afford it I would go for the latest version of Microsoft’s Surface Pro I think they’re up to the Surface Pro 8 now?

All the portability of an iPad/Android tablet with the full fat power of a stonking laptop what’s not to love?

You are the ideal Apple customer. Keep buying multiple devices that you don't even know how to use. What a champ.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
