watch Rich Rebuilds on youtube - he built a Tesla from write off/scrap ones some years ago ....now has the Electrified garage operated by two ex tesla employees....
in his latest video he was ranting about how Tesla turns off supercharging on your (salvaged/rebuilt car) for safety reasons - so it wont blow up the tesla charge network - but that also stops you using third party fast chargers .......

back to the OPThe big manufacutrers would drop their suppilers if this was really the case once any contractual obligstions are met. If they have agreed to a 5 year supply of 1000000 units a year of an item for example they will have to negotiate out of that but would do....

This book about Elon Musk is a good read.
If anyone wants a copy let me know and I'll upload it =)

I read that book. Its a free and easy eBook download anywhere. Hardly comprehensive at only a little over 100 pages and it really gushes nothing but positive about Musk. Surely he's clever, and I like his speaking style, but he's definitely a bit if a kook too!

When the USA had the A-bomb they guessed it would take the Russians at least a decade to do the same. If i recall well it took them three years. Initial design / development takes a lot longer than analyzing / copying / improving it.
Concur.. everything is copied... Key is how to successfully bring something to market. Original ideas dont mean squat if u cant sell the bloody thing. Iphone, cars, beer etc...

Established companies have too much fluff that poises as an impediment

Well I am a kook and I hope you are kooky too, but I don't believe nutty shit like we are living in a simulation like Musk does. He's a likeable kook though.

I lied. The bio I read on musk was by B. Storm and just a little better than toilet paper. Loads of typos too. I'll have to get the Vance book. I like likeable kook Musk.
