Satellite Internet??

Post by gavinbrisbane »

Hi Guys,

I am just wondering if anyone on this forum lives remotely and uses satellite internet?

If so, what is the connectivity like? Download speed etc.? Is it reliable enough to run an internet based business from?

Is it an expensive install and is the monthly cost the same or similar as in more urbanized/city areas?

I did search the forum but did not find any discussion topics. I did find this article in the PP Post - but it is from 2009.

Thanks
Kind Regards

I'm also looking into sat. Internet for a remote office of ours, but nothing available in Cambodia. As our office is approx. 27km away from the nearest 3g tower, cellphone internet is not an option.

Currently we are trying to hook up with Cootel via long-range antennas supplied by Sora Technology, but service levels of both companies are absolutely useless and after 2 months I have given up.

We are now looking towards Thailand for sat. Internet suppliers, but I'm not too sure about the legal aspects of it.

Do you need this immediately or can you wait a few more months?

Send me a PM with details of what you need and I might be able to get you in touch with someone I know.
