What do you need it for that's worth paying the extra $$$$ for the fiber optic?

Seems most OpenNet customers getting the same package for a lot less.

Is it just for a more stable connection or what?

I'm already saving 60/month by switching from Ezecom. I have almost zero confidence in Opennet since I don't have a relationship with them so I thought I'd start with a higher package to see if it's even stable. As far as bandwidth is concerned, I upload/download large files all the time for work (photography) and appreciate high bandwidth because of my IT background. When I was here in 2010, I barely got a mb. It's amazing how far things have come!

Yeah, crazy to think that the Internet speeds have literally gotten 100 times faster than when I arrived about 6 years ago and the price has gotten even cheaper for these faster speeds.

That sounds very good. Can you subscribe for a limited time, say 2-3 months , or would it have to be longer ?

ADSL minimum subscription is one month but the free installation starts at six month minimum and they chuck in extra months at that point. Don't know what the full cost of a new install would be. We paid around $80 all up for a new install and seven months at 3Mbps unlimited, and are currently getting 6.5Mbps constant during the day.

Our 3Mbps contract - this is fairly consistent. Up speed not so great, but that down speed is far more than adequate - especially for $13.

I also think you'd save even more by getting one of their cheaper options, but they this out first and see how you like it. I've had openet since they opened (a bit over two years ago?) and have had very few problems with them (from two different locations). Some people have complained but generally I've had no issues. I love how a 2 Mbps connection used to cost 250$ in Cambodia just a few years ago, but now they're down to 12$! Bring on the competition!
