It may be that TouchPal is the default keyboard for OPPO.

Go to Menu>settings>language and keyboard (or something like that). See what keyboard options you have.
If TouchPal is the only keyboard, then you probably need to install another keyboard, set that as default, then disable and uninstall TouchPal.
If there is more than one keyboard installed, set the other keyboard as default, then as above.

In this link, someone suggests going into Google settings and turn TouchPal off. But before you do that be sure there is another keyboard installed.

They also suggest rooting may be the only solution.

All things that can be turned off are turned off. The keyboard in use is Gboard, except when doing something related to money when some secure type of keyboard automatically starts up...and cannot be overridden.

The touchpal doesn't show in Google settings, I assume because it has not been enabled. However, just because it has not been enabled and is not in use, surely one can't assume the backdoor vulnerability does not exist and cannot be used by nasty folk? If it is that simple (not enabled and not in use equals no security threat) then that is marvellous.
Finally, on my latest Malwarebytes scan it returned the Android/Adware.Cootek adware within touchpal as a minor threat only. I have decided not to free more about it and that I will never enable touchpal. Fingers crossed I don't regret it.
Shout out to any Chinese (or other) people reading this via a backdoor vulnerability.

Just wondering, were you getting random pop up ads before, and, have they stopped now?

I have (so far, and online suggestions are it may get worse) only experienced full page pop ups when using the solitaire app (no judging, it puts me to sleep). The same app on previous phones did not do this. It may be app update related in this case and totally unconnected to the touchpal keyboard issue.

Hope you don't use your phone for banking. https://www.androidauthority.com/flashl ... on-816378/

Might be an idea to remove the Solitaire app and find a replacement.

My name is Prince, would you like to make some quick money by helping me transfer my deceased giraffes' estate?

God bless you.
