As I understand it, it is... but it sort of turns every other person (in the country needed) using it into a potential partial VPN node for your requests. As well as turning you into one for them. Basically like a realtime torrent system pulling little bits through everyone.

That's one of the benefits of the pay version, you'll never be one of those "peers" it uses to serve to everyone else.

Huh. What are some speed examples? I use Netshade and pay 29/yr for proxy service so I can use Netflix. Etc and their service has allowed me to keep speeds at what I'm supposed to be getting from Ezecom.

It's still a VPN, which is the ability to route your traffic through various connections. We have just taken traditional architecture and improved the performance by adding P2P technology, effectively we are a hybrid solution.

Correct, but it only when your PC is idle, as soon as you are using it we don't use it.

No, all traffic is encrypted and secure and no data is saved locally.

No. You haven't answered my query.

If I install hola and my computer is idle it acts as a node, Allowing others to access the internet from my machine.

So therefore if that user makes an illegal search on Google it will be logged as coming from my ip address. Google is mandated to report certain searches to relevant authorities. Therefore there is a possibility that an innocent person may have their house raided, be arrested, have their children removed etc, just by using hola.

Of course that is a worse case scenario but it is absolutely possible. There have been many cases of this nature by innocent people hosting TOR exit nodes.
