Help !!! “Your computer has recovered from a serious error”
I’ve granted some idiot access to my computer (yeah, yeah……I know). Anyway……..when I start up the computer, I get now a windows error message saying “Your computer has recovered from a serious error” with the following error signature:
BCCode: 19 BCP1: 00000020 BCP2: E2949B18 BCP3: E2949CA0
BCP4: 0C310231 OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 3_0 Product: 256_1
Anybody here able to explain what that means ? Thanx a lot in advance.

Und der Haifisch der hat Tränen
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht
In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht

I didn't add or remove any RAM. Got the feeling that it has something to do with the Master Boot Record......not sure though.

Yikes! Maybe they just turned it off without shutting it down properly, but I don't know.
Do a disk scan.
And I wouldn't worry about it until you see it again...

Didn't you use some shitty software that was meant to roll back all changes to Windows on every boot?

Honestly most times I see this it's a precursor for a harddrive failure. Get you shit backed up. Sometimes a false alarm and just a 'glitch' but most times it means the drive is beginning to fail.

Exactly this is the case. After I installed Ubuntu it worked another 2 or 3 days and then plop........harddrive gone. I remember a year ago I have had the same problem with another machine. First this strange warning and a couple of days later harddrive failed. Problem is that they sell here these cheap second hand harddrives from Japan. They usually don't last very long.OrangeDragon wrote:Honestly most times I see this it's a precursor for a harddrive failure. Get you shit backed up.
