Data Transfer

Post by Doc67 »

Hey Techies, I need some help.

I have bought a new laptop and want to transfer all the Microsoft Edge browsing and favourite sites, passwords etc to the new machine. I think it is called Sync but have no idea how to do it. Is it all stored on "One Drive"?

All the files etc are going onto an external hard drive and will be uploaded and that will give me a back up as well.

Can all this be done easily with my Google Chrome browser history too?

Any help gratefully received...

Are you logged in to Edge with your Microsoft account? In the top right hand of the window, next to the three lines, you should see a generic profile picture. Click on that and see if you can see your Microsoft (probably Outlook) email address. If you do, you're logged in. Check that it says 'Sync is on' underneath your email address. If it isn't, turn it on. Then everything should be stored in the cloud and automatically transferred to your new laptop when you log in to Edge there.

Wow, that was easy. All has migrated in an instant.

Thanks
