The more I read the more I want to delete it. I have already reduced the card limits to near zero. Plus got Find My Device loaded on the favourites of my PC. If the phone goes missing I can do a quick search for it. If it is switched off that would mean it won't show up, and is probably stolen. Then you can hit the lock or a full erase mode when it gets switched on.

I need a new phone. The next one will have only ABA loaded into it, and with very little available funds. The old phone can live indoors and just be used for big banking.

I have Google wallet on my phone with a Wise card loaded. I have a feeling this is a very bad idea.

The wallet app doesn't have any restrictions on it - you press the app and it opens. If you can get into my phone you can get into the wallet and use the card for large transactions. Wise will just pay them, they don't even seek confirmation through the phone app. If I buy an item via my laptop they seek approval. With the phone, they just pay it. All they do is send you a message that a transaction has taken place. But if someone steals my phone I won't even know about it until I get home.
probably is, but if you need it and it's useful what to do except maybe have a burner phone for bars and dodgy dalliances with none of that stuff

You can set your own max transfer limits in the app or at the bank

100k is simply the default
U can.. but what's the point if someone who have access to phone can change it back to 100k. As i said before 100k transfers should not be allowed to do via mobile app at all.

They would have to know the secret word to change the amount.

Some Android home screen launchers like Nova allow you to hide app icons. This may give some security.

This is still not secure enough. Someone might point a gun and make victim to transfer that amount within few seconds.

I disagree. Nothing worse (or more British) than having to ask your bank to release your money or give a period of notice before a large withdrawal

FYI most of my various cards are set to a $5 max daily tx limit, and then if I need to authorize a larger payment I will set that amount as limit, make payment & then reset limit to $5

But I do like the fact that I have that flexibility to go up to 100k even if I don't always have that much cash on hand, or ever lol

That sure escalated quickly.

Or they could hold my family hostage while I go to the branch to transfer $100k to them.

I guess if my family was being held hostage I’d rather than the convenience of the app rather than having to spend 40 minutes queueing in the bank.
