Agreed, was expecting a pretty boring opener but some excellent goal s from the Russkies, 4th was a cracker. Unfortunately very poor show from the camera man, absolutely zero effort to pick out the terrace talent. Looking forward to Spain v Portugal tomorrow night and even more to getting back to Thailand next week for 7pm, 10pm and 1am kick offs. Unfortunately England v Panama clashes with the big Pattaya United v Navy F.C. TPL derby on Sunday so I’ll have to miss the Panama victory.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 1:57 am cracking first game of the world cup...

Spain game is the late one 1am your time but given your anti-US stance you could cheer for Iran against Morocco at 10pm :that genius wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 1:06 pm What time is the match tonight local time?

Close to 99% of yanks I've met have been great people.
Would cheer for Iran against my home country, never met a single person who's been there that didn't love it, they can't all be wrong.

(Why bring up the US when they are not even playing ? Please can we have one thread without all this sort of shit ?)Cowshed Cowboy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 8:11 pmSpain game is the late one 1am your time but given your anti-US stance you could cheer for Iran against Morocco at 10pm :that genius wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 1:06 pm What time is the match tonight local time?

I actually like watching the unknown teams that you rarely see on TV. Morocco and Iran are two underdog teams that don't stand a chance in the competition, but they're proud to play on the world stage and they will do their best. It's their 90 minutes of glory, and surprises are always possible in football.
It's also interesting to see how the level of football and the public interest in the game is evolving in different countries. Look at the Japanese team for example, and I bet China will be qualified for the World Cup in another 10-20 years. The traditional football strongholds are Europe and South America, so yeah, it's interesting to see the game opening up to other countries without a longstanding football culture.
As an aside, I was really surprised when i first came to Cambodia to see everyone playing volleyball, and hardly any football, and IME that has changed - a lot more football going on now.

Relax ffs, see the little smilies at the end of my comment it was intended as a light hearted comment, given That Genius’s “ Putin’s team did well last night, Go Russia”. I use the forum a lot less now exactly because of “all this sort of shit” and people jumping down other’s throats at the slghtest opportunity as you’ve just demonstrated.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 9:05 pm(Why bring up the US when they are not even playing ? Feel for Egypt, thought they were unlucky to lose at the death and the resting Salah decision could well cost them now. Very even group between Russia, Egypt and Uruguay on the first two games.

A bit more lively in the last 15 minutes. Noticeably a lot of empty seats so I guess the neutrals weren’t tempted by that one. Good start to the Morocco game and the stadium is noisier with a fuller crowd.
