Golf talk

Post by Fridaywithmateo »

Played the par 3 course today ... 36 holes total ... first 18 was +21 ... second 18 was +10 ... nothing to write home about, but for me it's progress ... coming off a lot of injuries ... can't wait to load test the game on a full course. Last time I was able to hit long irons and driver was 2013 in Vietnam. On the bright side, no lost balls, no OB and no water splashdowns. Small victories, small victories.

Did you have fun? That’s the most important part.

Well, I approach it like any other job … it’s work … you only get out of it what you put into it … I am back to a point physically where I can hit 500-600 balls in a session and not be knackered out the following day … it’s a process.

The fact that you didn’t say Yes to NK’s question maybe speaks for itself.

If it ain’t enjoyable, and there’s no element of fun, and the focus is in getting it done without some satisfaction in achievement, it’s time to vote with one’s feet. Obsessions can be an issue.

Oh no ... golf is totally my happy zone ... I get super zenned out when I am out hitting balls. My approach to getting better at a sport I love is work-like, is what I meant to get across

No joke ... she had never touched a club in her life, but always thought she'd like to play ... I guess dreams do come true sometimes. Yesterday was her sixth session and she has her 7-iron going about 80 yards ... I think she will be able to play the par-3 next month.
