Bangladesh put the finishing touch to their preparation Friday, ahead of their Fifa international friendly against Cambodia Saturday.

Following their arrival in Phnom Penh, the men in red and green underwent their first training session Thursday.

Newly-appointed goalkeeping coach Dean Kenneth May worked with the three goalkeepers in a different session.

Prior to their friendly, veteran goalkeeper Ashraful Islam Rana was under no illusions with the tough task facing them.
He said, “We are practising in different conditions, with temperatures hovering around 32 or 33 degrees celcius, that too on astro-turf. These really are tough conditions for us.”

FIFA International Friendly: Bangladesh beat Cambodia 1-0
By Staff Reporter on March 9, 2019 Football, News, Sports

Dhaka – Bangladesh National Football team maintained their winning record against Cambodia, beating them by 1-0 goal in a FIFA International Friendly at the national stadium in Phnom Penh on Saturday.

Substitute mid-fielder Rabiul Hasan scored the match-winner in the 83rd minute by an accurate shot from goal mouth melee, utilising a meritorious left wing pass of another substitute booter Mahbubur Rahman Sufil.

This was Bangladesh’s third victory against Cambodia in four meetings. Cambodia hold 172nd position in FIFA ranking while Bangladesh are at 192.
Bangladesh, who played their first international match after five months in a relatively hot temperature of about 35 degrees, maintained their unbeaten run against Cambodia since 2006.
