Re: Cheap cases of excellent, strong IPA available

Haha, thanks for the tip, Indian Pale Ale ... Wait a minute, WTF is a "pale ale"?
I think I'll stick on Gin & Tonic, beer is too technical for me. Cheers anyway!

What is an "IPA craft brew"?? Sometimes I wish CEO could provide a translator for non-native speakers...

Re: Retirement planning

Stay in your country until you get your full pension. Then, move to Cambodia, put your 230,000$ in a good bank or MFI (some have European or Canadian shareholders which make them safer). MFIs like Amret will give 7.5% p.a. on a 3 years commitment and can pay the interest monthly.

Best bakery in Phnom Penh: Gomez

There is a Japanese guy who opened a bakery a couple of years back called Gomez Bakery (yeah, I know, doesn't sound Japanese at all!), street 88 not far from Raffles hotel. Easy to find with Google map. He makes excellent bread, including special bread 3 times a week (sesame, cereal etc.), delicious...

Re: Malis Restaurant review

I find this restaurant overpriced. You can get the same food quality and a nicer atmosphere in many other places as mentioned in the post about Khmer restaurants. The atmosphere is too business oriented for me.

Re: Quality Cambodia food restaurant

My favorites are Phka Slaa, corner 19/240. They cook traditional Khmer recipes and have a 6,50$ set menu at lunch time. Labaab is also a good place to try, on Monivong blvd at the 1st or 2d floor above the Pharmacy de la Gare. The Sugar Palm, street 178. Kravanh on Sothearos as mentioned by Spigzy. ...

Phnom-Penh to Kampot by train

Anyone tried recently to go to Kampot by train? We've tried for King's Birthday break, there was a brand new coach, really comfortable, but it took 6H15 because we were stuck behind a container train. On the way back only 4H15, we found it safer and more comfortable than a taxi.

Re: Renew Cambodia driving license

Thank you, this is very useful. Two of my friends went to AEON 2, followed the process and said it was easy and quick. One of them wanted to give a tip to the admin officer who refused! At least something that is changing for the best ...

Re: Can Old Men (60) Teach English in Cambodia?

If you stay in Cambodia with a business visa, yes, you can teach. So far, there is no legal retirement age in Cambodia for the private sector. Many schools in Phnom Penh are struggling to recruit native-English speakers but salaries might be lower than in China.
By the way, 60 is not that old!

Re: Blood Thinners?

Pharmacy de la Gare is a bit expensive but it's the safest, all drugs come directly from France or Singapore and you can order if they don't have what you're looking for. Another safe choice is U-Care with a safe sourcing but with a quite limited choice. Be cautious with the small local pharmacies, ...
