Have you forgotten the refugee resettlement plan?John Bingham wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 8:07 pm It's a bit early to say as the issue is ongoing but the donations are possibly being used to fund the response and pay for other vaccines? And I doubt the Australians just handed over $28 million with no interest in where the grant was going.

Re: KHR fixed term deposit
The relative risk of USD against KHR is an interesting question. If you are investing in Cambodia the institutional risk is the same regardless of currency. What then is the relative sovereign risk? Cambodia is a small corrupt country with few resources and has recently destroyed its tourist industr...

Re: Posters who are just here to shit on Cambodia.
Whilst I understand the sentiment expressed by John Bingham, nevertheless I can not agree. This seems to be a part of the "cancel" culture currently popular - if you disagree with somebody's views then they should be cancelled. I disagree with what many people say on this forum and elsewhe...

Re: Buy soft-title apartment in PP
As you can see from the above postings there are many ways to "own" or at least control a property. All of these ways involve trusting a Khmer person which may appear reasonable at the time but you never know what may happen in future. If you are talking about soft title then what are you ...

Re: Information on Coronavirus in Cambodia from 8 March 2020 (Latest Updates)
Why would you think that these restrictions would have any effect on the virus? The restrictions have failed utterly in other countries and they will fail here. Again and again they repeat these failed restrictions and again and again they have the same result.

Re: Power Cuts for Phnom Penh Announced (UPDATED)
You are lucky to be informed. In Siem Reap we have daily power cuts at random times ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Sometimes multiple times per day. Of course we never get advanced notice and never know the reasons.

Re: Does the International Criminal Court have the will to prosecute environmental crimes?
Six houses? 22 people? This is nothing compared to what they have done in Siem Reap with hundreds of houses demolished at the owners expense, no compensation, and thousands of people forced out of their houses. Not a peep of protest. The International Criminal Court has no jurisdiction unless the go...

Re: Health checkpoint at Siem Reap/Kampong Thom
So if I were to leave from SR during the daytime is there a stop forcing a tracking app? What if I didn't have a smartphone or a sim card? Prolly better to take the night bus or not go at all? Its only a one-way checkpoint for traffic entering Siem Reap province. Not a problem if no smartphone - ju...
