Re: How much would it cost?

This has been a really interesting thread. I am almost tempted to build again. Would fancy doing a place on stilts with solar panels, passive cooling etc. I wonder whether rammed earth with an outer protective skin/barrier would work in the tropics as well as it does in dry heat environments for pa...

Rammed earth is a much drier mix and can contain a little cement to make it hold, it's the compression that gives it it's properties.

Birthing clinic for Khmer nationals? (Why rush these things)

Re: Best cheap hostels in Cambodia and Vietnam for backpacking in style

Depends on your standards really, I've had good fast food, and good cheap accommodation. I guess when you've seen/experienced what shit actually is you become a lot more accepting Yep - I was overgeneralising. I actually don't mind a feed of fried chicken at Lucky Burgers, although it's a toss on a...

Re: Bicycles/motor bikes on country highways

If I did it, would be a definite 'all the gear all the time' ride and I'd take my chances cruising along sub 100kmh hoping Stroppy's split-second sidecar pilot took the day off! Yeah, I was overtaking everything else on the road except for the prat that hit me - this was an "all gear" rid...

Being assigned to this tender would be a hell of an assignment. https://i.imgur.com/XTt0hZz.png Looks like 666 is the number to phone if there is a fire . You could be right, although I think the other tenders have different numbers. It's possibly the tender's radio number. Edit: nope, you're right...

Re: Bicycles/motor bikes on country highways

Riding in a group is inherently more dangerous, for many different reasons. More info, please? For anybody who wants to look into this in more depth, google is your friend. There's a fairly exhaustive amount of evidence that group rides are statistically much more dangerous. Biggest issue is varian...
