Re: VIDEO: Ship hits Keys Bridge in Maryland (USA)
Lost power? Then why the sudden right turn? It seems to turn towards the pillar instead of trying to avoid it. Loss of power, loss of steerage, prevailing currents and wind? Last ditch effort (failed) to limit damage? Slightly more shocking is how vulnerable the bridge was to catastrophic damage fr...

Re: FDR
Darkcel, is it schizoposting or clique commenting? If you have nothing of value to comment on one way or another then take you commenting back to Kymer 440, FB, maybe X or some other social media trash talk forum. I've been around here (PP) for 8 years, 22 in SEA, 4 countries so if I wanted to hear...

Re: FDR
At first glance, and most subsequent glances, I don’t know whether this thread is about current technical issues in posting photos, or a nostalgic trip to US politics of last century. The absence of any narrative or input by the OP doing little to assist.

Re: one concert wish i had been
I only ever went to one- Jean Michel Jarre’s Docklands. I intended to go to others (so, not just ‘the one’ that I missed) but opportunities either never coincided, or plans got cut short by other events.
But I loved it. Despite the rain showers and the cold.

Re: KhemEnglish among local kids.
I found it especially noticeable in India/Bangladesh where technical phrases and words get adopted in, completely. Quite often in news programs. It’s less about showing off, I think, than just using comfortable, familiar or succinct language. Even if it’s just from watching foreign tv programmes. Us...

Re: New Hospital
The country may need hospitals and equipment, but what it really needs is a much better standard of medical care all around. More real doctors, able to provide actual skilled medical care, for all. More skilled nurses, and support staff. More actual professional, not gubbinsment/bureaucratic, oversi...

Re: Tik Tok to be banned ( maybe) in the US
There is quite a lot of dis-information spread on Tik-Tok, too. It’s easy to gloss over it due to the majority of content being just garbage. The dumbing down aspect? Well, the floodgates for that started with the internet being available to all, then in the likes of Facebook. So we’ve only ourselve...
