Re: America does it again....
^^It's very localized though, and I don't want to paint a picture of America being in total anarchy, because I'm heading back in August and am not worried about my conceal carry permit or anything like that. All depends where you are from. For example, when I lived in the ghetto 3 people in my apart...

Re: America does it again....
. I know that's obviously unlikely, and being from the ghetto I know that most gun violence comes from a very few concentrated areas (think Detroit, Miami, Chicago, L.A., etc), but it does scare off a lot of people when they see shooting after shooting after gun incident after gun incident. Watchin...

Re: America does it again....
I always hear that "Why does everyone want to move here?" bullshit, but most people I talk to here in SE Asia are scared of America. Many are afraid they're going to be shot. I know that's obviously unlikely, and being from the ghetto I know that most gun violence comes from a very few con...

Re: Where does the land whale line start?
I think everyone is too quick to blame the people who eat, but not the people who pour billions of dollars into addictive combinations, patented chemicals, food substitutes, and of course, advertising and subliminal messaging.

Re: Questions for the leavers
I've been here 8 years and I'm leaving next month. I'm not so worried about the increased expenses although I am far from wealthy, but I am not sure I'm ready for the "culture shock". Living here has really taught me what matters in life, meaning family, food, shelter and some skills to su...

Re: Registering Moto - New Rule
I almost bought one to replace my lost scooter. It was $550 and a 70cc.fatuousdrivel wrote: ↑Sat Jul 21, 2018 5:39 pm Have you ever seen a pre 1981 round headlight Cub for sale in Cambodia?
Very rare and there’s no market!
And I misread your post, I thought you meant Cubs were fetching a premium like $1500 here, not in the West.

Re: Registering Moto - New Rule
20+ Honda Cubs are worth quite a bit of money, not so much here but in the West. $1500 upwards for a round headlight pre 80’s model. Last I checked the pre 80's Cubs weren't more than $500-600 a few months ago. So anyway. $10 fine and now you’ve lost the bike. Good move batman. Shit happens. Went o...

Re: Registering Moto - New Rule
In those situations the owner (family, wife etc) would simply pick it up. I understand that, but what a pain in the ass. What if your wife is in Chbbar Ampouv and you get stopped way out at Aeon 2. I'd be that 80% of moto drivers on the road right now are operating motos that do not have their name...

Re: Registering Moto - New Rule
^^That is true, but since when have rules and laws ever made sense here? To add, when I was getting attempting to get my new bike registered, the office sent away the kid in front of me saying "You're ID is in Kampong Cham, go back to Kampong Cham and get your plate there.", as if riding a...

Re: Registering Moto - New Rule
Two franklins under the table wasn't enough, and my bike isn't worth much more than that.
