Re: My Lucky Escape From a Fire
Fortunately I didn't have to count steps : Up to the landing and then all the way down -- by feel. But no, I didn't feel the door before opening it, which was stupid. . Let me speak for a moment to the wet towel / wet clothes idea, as respectfully and graciously as possible because I hate when these...

Re: My Lucky Escape From a Fire
Really the only smart thing I did in the whole crisis, was to have explicitly thought about the question ahead of time. "If there's ever an emergency, I'm grabbing this, and this, and *this*." . I am both a dumb guy by nature and even worse when having to react quickly on my feet, and the ...

Best dim sum in Beoung Rang or BKK
Hi again, everyone.
The GF wants dim sum for dinner tonight and both of us are a little tired of dim sum emperors near Central Market, so we're looking for recommendations for a really good one. Preferably in Beoung Rang, Chatomok or BKK1, but we'll stretch out a little for a can't-miss target.

Re: Is it creepy to sit alone outside riverside bars and restaurants?
I've been sitting alone in restaurants for essentially my entire adult life, because that's the only company that will consistently put up with me.

Need three recommendations
Hi again everyone. I need a recommendation on where to shop for large-bubble bubble wrap (each bubble about the size of a US $0.25 piece), as well as a flywheel-resistance rowing machine, and an affordable teeth-cleaning in Phnom Penh. The guy who cleans my teeth in Kampot charges $10 -- but he's in...

Christmas (steak) dinner?
Anyone know of a special Christmas night dinner in Phnom Penh that they'd like to recommend -- preferably involving a good steak?

Re: Know of any tame stray cats?
Oh, of *course* -- spade cat. He could even have his own meme, couldn't he? "Spade Cat says, 'your argument is invalid'."
