Re: jumping through the immigration hoops

I tried to discuss the EG visa with immigration when i arrived (with the khmer other half, who they wouldn't talk to). I was issued a business visa, and told to extend it. I was told that there is no EG option (by the immigration folks) At present, there are some complications for the other half to ...

jumping through the immigration hoops

this is no doubt going to sound lame to those who have already conquered the system, but here goes... On my last entry into Cambodia, I was issued a Business visa. Visa number starts with EI..... valid for 1 month, single entry. After many failed attempts to get some clarification before I left the ...

Re: The Countries Polluting the Oceans the Most

I've spent a bit of time further north, and am actually surprised that Bangladesh doesn't figure higher in that scale. The somewhat ravaged waterways of Dhaka are a testament to poor education and greed in equal measure. The convenience of plastics, and the lack of understanding make for a disaster....

I'll admit to a slight smirk at 13 and 15, but i gave myself a sharp smack on the back of the head. All fixed now

Re: UK is holding my passport hostage. HELP!

My ex-GF, who is a complete and utter moron, with an attitude that befits the country she comes from, recently managed to get a UK visa. She also paid the expedite fee apparently. Sadly, like many places, the UK official channels have decided to use VFSglobal, who in some places have proven inadequa...

Expat medical services

I know that there's the British Khmer clinic (in Siem reap?) but what about In Phnom Penh, is there a similar clinic, partnership or recommended location?

Apologies, as I'm sure it's a question that's been asked many times before (link to a thread would suffice)

Re: SECOND culture shock?

It's a funny thing, this culture shock business. Due to work, I've lived in a fair variety of places- Scotland, twice, with two different companies. Kazakhstan, Canada, Bangladesh, Switzerland. That accounts for the last fifteen years, for places that I've spent significant time, with shorter stints...

Re: GM may be offline for a while

Having read through this thread, I feel oddly over-informed. Entertained and intrigued, and somewhat, not in the least bit surprised. There are few places on earth that I deliberately avoid- Big areas of the grit pit, and Birmingham spring to mind. On a personal level, I once buggered a vacuum clean...
