Re: Former Digi customers - advice?

Just misc personal experience here. Over the years I've had Digi, Opennet, Metfone, and Cootel. Cootel was reliable but slow (take anywhere box) and pay as you go monthly. I keep it as a backup and I'm happy with the $10 a month package. Metfone was by far the fastest for the best for reliability an...

Re: Expats returning to China

Vietnam has been damn near very impossible to get in, even for many Vietnamese. My ex's family (being Vietnamese) have not been back since 2019, and they used to travel almost every month, sometimes twice a month to visit family. I personally have a hard time believing random Chinese are transiting...

Re: Expats returning to China

Is this for Chinese expats here, or other nationalities trying to get into China? If the former, we need to find a fix ASAP. I have been reading for a longtime that there are many Chinese people traveling from China via land borders of Vietnam and Cambodia with the final destination for work being ...

Re: Phnom Penh crash course

There's a lot of trash on the ground, and traveling a short distance in the city can take way longer than you'd expect at times.

Re: "Advanced" bike mechanic or part seller in Kampot?

^^^I decided to pull the body apart first to see if there was any obvious problems underneath before I went part shopping and found nothing, but upon reassembly...seems like it's fine now. Gave it a boot full of throttle, took it up to fairly high speed, nothing. :| I guess it fixed itself. Anyway, ...

Re: "Advanced" bike mechanic or part seller in Kampot?

I had a similar problem on one of our small bike tour's! Rode from Koh Kong to Kampot, and went to visit Kep for the day, but on leaving we hit very heavy rain and the bike stopped, and me thinking it was water in the electrics. It was evening time and the rain was not letting up, I choice but to p...

Hey, that's right where I am at having a morning coffee! Perfect, seems I chose a good place to have breakfast.

"Advanced" bike mechanic or part seller in Kampot?

Hi everyone, I'm on a bit of a bike tour of the country and ran into some problems in Kampot (just outside of Kampot actually). Bike is a Japanese market PCX 125 (late model), not the Thai or NCX 150 or 160 versions that are everywhere here. I've got damage likely to the ECM (best handbag tool diagn...

Re: US Dollar in Cambodia

When you're in the provinces you only use riel well that's my experience. I prefer the use of riels, sellers are so crazy about any small tear, stamp or spot on a dollar note the chance I get into trouble is simply too large. I also use the QR code of my bank app way more than before. But... for la...

Re: Looking for a place to buy an acoustic guitar

Madison music (bought three guitars over the years from them) has had some decent stuff (although it's been years since I've played). Forgot what acoustic I got from there, but it was around $300 and played really nicely in comparison to other stuff I've played at that price range (matte finish rose...
