Re: Has anyone had to deal with Imimigration about work visa

I have not, nor has anyone I know personally. It appears that they have cracking down in certain cities (Kampot and Siem Reap) and gone to a few businesses and made demands. There have been no cities where the entire expat population has been affected. Sounds like there's pretty much no way to know ...

Re: New Restaurant in Siem Reap That Aims to be "Different"

The photo on the restaurant's FB page is of another restaurant entirely (or at least the daily specials on the board are listed in GBP)

Re: Sweden banning paid sex abroad

Oh, okay. So Drifter's argument is mainly that he hates women. Personally, I have a hard time seeing the argument for this law of Sweden's, but if it's Swedes not being allowed to pay for sex abroad versus "women are evil," I'm going to side with the Swedes.

Re: Sweden banning paid sex abroad

Re: What sort of veggies will I have the best luck with?

Everything but spinach and maybe beetroot, but a friend of mine has done ok with beets in kampot. Some shadecloth would be a real big help. Why wouldn't spinach work here? And any idea which varieties of tomatoes would have the best luck? I tried to buy shadecloth at my regular garden shop and she ...

Re: What sort of veggies will I have the best luck with?

Thanks! I think the corn, green beans and herbs will have the best chances. I need to figure out what I can grow in the ground or raised beds and what I need to keep to containers. The flock survived. We had some very nice housesitters who spoiled them as much as we do, so I think they weren't too t...

A travel agent told me that K6 flights from PNH-BKK will start up again in high season.

Thanks, Georgina, that's very interesting. Does that mean Rattanak is not closing then?

What sort of veggies will I have the best luck with?

I'm just back from a holiday in the US and a plant store offered me 35 free packets of seeds because their growing season was over and they weren't going to sell them. I'm guessing the best time to grow these will be after the rain stops, but I'm not sure what types of non-local vegetables would sur...
