Re: Deport me

Anyone can get free food and water if they go to a Buddhist temple and ask for it (nicely). Meaning don't have a sense of entitlement or white man's expectations. Offer to sweep/clean up the temple land etc.

Have you tried online teaching? The rates are not that high, but enough to live on in Cambodia.

Re: Headlines Burma ( yes Aung san says you can say Burma)

So sad. In more peaceful times about 4 years ago I used to regularly ride my motorbike from Naypyitaw, over the hills to Pinlaung and on my way to Taunggyi and Inle Lake region to donate school books etc. I'd stop on Pinlaung main road for fresh coffee and freshly-baked bread. I can't even imagine t...

Re: Koh Samui

Most people rent motorbikes, including (maybe helps the OP), three-wheeler tricycle motorbikes for those who are not so hot at balancing on a 2-wheel bike! Trikes are way more dangerous than bikes. Don’t let that third wheel fool you. By trikes, I mean the sort of electric bike that old grannies ri...

Re: Koh Samui

I'm living on the next island Koh Phangan, after having been denied a visa by the Burmese junta to return to my teaching job in Myanmar. It's getting busier over here, mainly (it seems) with young male Russians. Most people rent motorbikes, including (maybe helps the OP), three-wheeler tricycle moto...

I’d like to know how he feels about the number of shots he fired now. Does he shrug and think the guy had it coming, or does he think he was pumped up on adrenaline and couldn’t stop?
Honest M'lud, the gun just went off - I don't know why....

Re: Foreign Driver Dies of Heart Attack at the Wheel

I know it is nitpicking, but you die of a cardiac arrest, not a heart attack. A heart attack can last for days as the heart struggles to pump through narrowed arteries etc. A cardiac arrest is where your heart suddenly stops, either due to some internal electrical problem, or because of a catastroph...
