Re: Where to photo-copy / pirate my own book

One of my favourite publishing houses.

Can't help with your question I am afraid, although I reckon a soft copy (pdf) of the book would be much easier to print

Re: Banks charging for statements?

Acleda bank will give you one free statement at the end of the month if you go there to pick it up. I asked them for one statement for the last 3 months as I had not got one for each month, and they tried to charge me for two of those months as they were extra statements. Because I protested about ...

Banks charging for statements?

Is this generally a thing here? Just went into ANZ and was told I have to pay $2 for 3 months or $4 for more. I know it is not a lot of money but it does seem a bit off that I have to pay for the only possible way to get an official statement. I could print one from internet banking but it d...

Re: Nightlife Area in Phnom Penh Planning to Open a Pub Street just like Siem Reap

Mr. Jen Narith, Director of Tourism Office of Khan Daun Penh, said that the Authority base as well as Department of Tourism are planning to make a Pub St on street no136 and street 113 up to the museum. They must mean Street 13, which has very few bars or restaurants. The only undeveloped part, bes...

Re: Nightlife Area in Phnom Penh Planning to Open a Pub Street just like Siem Reap

It would be nice if there was a "pub street" in Phnom Penh, I think it would do very well with tourists/backpackers & some expats. A bit like Khao San/Siem Reap pub street. Not even sure of the closest we currently have to that, 278? What we don't need is another hostess bar street, I ...

Re: Best and worst airports in SE Asia

Don Muang immigration was a fucking monkeyhouse when I arrived last Monday. Chinese jumping queues and westerners being pissed off. Of course non of the officials would give a rats ass about that. Reminded me of Kathmandu one day after all flights were cancelled the day before. Pochentong and Klia ...

Re: What to do with your left-over riel, kyat, kip and other useless currencies

No idea if this is legit or not, but if you have a currency that is not exchangeable elsewhere, what have you got to lose ? If you have 800,000 Laos kip, to take that example, thats worth zero almost everywhere, but it may be worth $80 to someone who is looking for kip.The exchange rate is about 8,...

Re: "Your Mission is Over! You Go!" British Aid Worker Gets Told by Immigration

Sounds like a senior citizen who tried his best but lacks full comprehension of the situation. Probably also depending on some less than perfect advice from others. Assuming that his NGO service and the 20 years of it are genuine I m confident that he has done a lot of good for the country. I m als...

Re: Where to find good gin in PP?

Yes, you can't move without bumping into a technophobe millennial backpacker.
