I would feel much safer at home in rural Italy where i can grow most of the vegetables & fruits and buy chicken&eggs from my neighbour.

Chinese tend to spend a fortune on the education of the children. Many probably dont have the funds anymore to educate 2 or 3. So they concentrate on the one they can afford.
