Re: Motorbike lessons

Also, braking. Use more of your rear brake as it drags you to a stop, and the front brake could slide your front wheel and cause a wipe out. I think this is counter to how most schools would teach. When braking, all the weight of the bike goes forward, and the front brake is far more effective than...

Re: Are mini mart clerks regularly screwing me out of 100-200 riel in change?

Usually they offer you a receipt, on which the correct change will be noted. Good evidence to request your missing 100 riel. Or you can request a receipt as the POS machine keeps a record of all recent transactions. One local minimart near me went that extra mile to try to get their 100 riel. The Ph...

Re: FOR SALE: 2019 KTM 450 SX-F

I’ve been chatting to him about a $25,000 Ducati he was selling for $8,000. He generously reduced it to $6,000 when I said I wasn’t interested any more. Apparently he will ship it to me and only wants paying after I’ve received the bike and tested it. He says it’s in Turkey. But he wants the $1,000 ...

Sharky Bar trying to trap customers inside for at least an hour on Friday nights

I see a modest ticket-tout business developing... someone can go before 9.30pm, buy say 100 tickets, and then resell them to other customers after 9.30pm for a very small markup, say 500 riel per ticket. That’s $12.50 profit plus probably a few of the free beers. Of course the person wouldn’t be ver...

Sharky Bar trying to trap customers inside for at least an hour on Friday nights

Who is Gav? It seems quite petty to start a thread about it. Why not have some ballsack and go and confront the owner about it? As I understand it, various individuals including staff and customers, have already approached the person responsible, suggesting that stopping ticket sales at 9.30pm may ...

Bar&Restaurant in Tuol Kork for sale (Repriced @ $3,200)

To be fair, I’ve done a rough calculation based on the stated inventory and the photos, and I reckon you could indeed get about $3,000-$4,000 selling all the equipment and fittings. And it would cost you substantially more to buy all this stuff new if you were setting up a bar restaurant from scratc...
